Description of project:

Designed more than a decade ago, the residence revolves around a relaxed, beautiful indoor atrium. The home's major rooms feature valued expanses of glass that open to the area. While the interiorscape firm worked with a landscape architect to design the project, the resident moved all old plant material and soil. Due to the mealybug and spidermite infestations, the atrium underwent fumigation for 60 days. Crews tread lightly since installation required entering the living area or skirting around the lake's banks. Three 28-inch lakeview jasmine reaching 10 feet or higher were placed in larger floor containers, allowing for proper rotation. Sansavieria, Xanadu, walking iris, cardboard palms, English Ivy were also incorporated into the atrium design.

Healthy plantings encompass the bubbling fountain, which serves as the centerpiece. The reflection of nature resonates throughout the house. With its own air and heat system, the atrium features installed ground cover, which separates new soil and gravel. The room's expansive windows offer clear views of the natural beauty outside.
