1995 Grand Award Winner Description of Project: The project involved two office buildings with slightly different architectural schemes that the landscape contractor unified and modernized with creative approaches to existing resources. "We designed a new look, installed new plants and renovated containers in one of two high-rent buildings of doctor's offices," said Deborah Heroman. The client wanted to save money by retaining, but improving the look of, 23 containers. The goal was to create a look that was lush but not overpowering, one that gave the tenants - mostly doctors - a greater perceived value of the building. We also wanted to make patients feel welcome, without having plants in their way as they came in the building. Containers "recycled" by Heroman Services show off their new looks, enhanced by plantings complementary to Plaza II. The new look is warm and welcoming, yet does not impede patient access to the building. Carrying out the design scheme for Plaza 1, these Silver Queens and Alexander Palms enhance the entrance to Plaza II. |
